As a wedding stationery designer, I love incorporating personal details about my couple into their stationery. Brittany and Joe made this easy! Their wedding felt like a scene from a fairytale. The two book lovers were married at The Upper Montclair Country Club, a historic venue dating back to 1901. The venue’s timeless charm provided the perfect backdrop for Brittany and Joe’s literature-themed wedding day.
A Classic Semi-Custom Invitation Suite With Personal Touches
Brittany and Joe selected The Miss Louise Suite from my semi-custom collection. The suite’s vintage calligraphy and custom wedding crest matched their vision perfectly. Brittany calls Joe her “real-life Mr. Darcy,” so of course, we incorporated silhouettes of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice into the wedding crest.
Their wedding colors, dusty blue and gold, were seamlessly woven into their stationery. Guests noticed personal details in the invitation, RSVP cards, and even their envelope liners! Everything about their wedding nodded to their shared love of literature. I drew inspiration from their favorite classic novels, including Pride and Prejudice, The Great Gatsby, and Wuthering Heights.
Wedding Celebration At The Upper Montclair Country Club
The Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, NJ, was an ideal location for Brittany and Joe’s wedding. The spacious grounds and elegant ballroom lent perfectly to the classic, literary theme of the day.
When Brittany reached out, she told me she wanted her wedding celebration to embody “happily ever after.” And I think their wedding captured that perfectly! Guests found classic literature references in their wedding stationery and quotes from their favorite novels in the decor. With the love in their eyes, this wedding certainly felt like the first chapter of a fairytale!
Brittany and Joe’s guests couldn’t stop admiring the personal touches at their wedding. From the moment they opened their invitations to the final moments of the reception, guests felt like they were stepping into a storybook.
