If you’re dreaming of a castle wedding that feels straight out of a fairytale, you have to see The Cloisters. Just outside of Baltimore, this romantic wedding venue in Lutherville, Maryland, has all the magic—stone turrets, stained-glass windows, wrought iron gates, and 60 secluded aes of woodland. It’s easily one of the most unique and breathtaking wedding venues in Maryland.
Recently, I was able to be a part of a dreamy editorial shoot there with the incredible team at Arrowbella Weddings (April and Taylor—if you know, you know). They pulled off a vision that felt like stepping into a “timeless reverie.” Think white florals, flowing linen, vintage touches, and just the right amount of enchanted forest energy.
The Cloisters (also known as Cloisters Castle) was originally built to house a private medieval art collection—so everything about the venue feels historic, romantic, and meaningful. There are several ceremony options: a courtyard with ivy-covered stone, an indoor Great Hall with candlelight, or a tented celebration out on the lawn. Wedding rentals start at around $5,500 and vary by date and guest count, but the experience you get is truly unforgettable.
April and Taylor styled the tables with white linens, moss runners, and soft, sculptural flowers like calla lilies and tulips. Each place setting had a linen menu (yes, real linen!) tied with a champagne silk ribbon. It was one of those tablescapes you just can’t stop looking at—simple but so elegant.
Guests were welcomed with a linen banner printed with the couple’s names and framed with early spring florals in white, green, and hints of pink. The flowers throughout the shoot had this loose, natural feel—white roses, viburnum, and pieris that looked like they were gathered right from the garden. It felt romantic and effortless all at once.
I designed the invitations and menus for this one, and I have to say—it was such a joy. The invitations were digitally printed on handmade paper with deckled edges, tucked into deep green envelopes with vintage floral liners. The menus were printed on real linen fabric (they were so soft and elegant). Emerald and forest green are super popular right now, and they tied in beautifully with the castle setting.
If you’re into historic charm, dramatic architecture, and romantic details, The Cloisters might be your perfect wedding venue. It’s ideal for couples who want their day to feel like a meaningful escape—like a modern fairytale brought to life.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Cloisters (or a venue that’s just as dreamy), let’s talk. I specialize in custom wedding stationery that tells your story and complements your space—right down to the textures and tones. Whether you’re into handmade paper, linen menus, or vintage-inspired details, I’d love to bring your vision to life.
