The grounds of Pleasant Hill House in southeastern Maryland were the perfect canvas for the vision crafted by Arrow Bella Weddings. Their multi-talented team hosted the event, designed the spectacular florals, provided decor rentals, and did the models’ hair and makeup! Turnage and Watts contributed stationery to leave our signature touch on this vintage-meets-modern wedding shoot decked in bold summer hues.

This citrus soiree wedding inspiration was a creative and vibrant photoshoot showcasing an eye-catching tablescape and lush floral arrangements. The design theme blended Bridgerton-inspired vintage florals with modern twists, incorporating bold colors, patterns, and playful elements. The primary color palette—incorporating blush, hot pink, tangerine, and yellow hues—evoked long, sun-drenched summer days in the garden.

Meanwhile, the menu cards featured a lively botanical pattern, wavy die-cuts, and a handwritten font style. A second design rimmed in 3-D effect bands of gradated orange hues added visual interest. I had so much fun designing these cards! The alternating designs were subtle, yet impactful and elevated the entire tablescape.

Pleasant Hill House: A Historical Maryland Wedding Venue

This shoot was at the 260-year-old Pleasant Hill House in Pomfrey, Maryland. The venue is on the National Register of Historic Places and features an English-style tea garden we used for the shoot. It boasts a long list of stunning indoor and outdoor wedding locations, including a fountain garden, lawn, pool, promenade, residence, terraces, and wildflower meadow. It’s one of the most beautiful places to have your wedding in the DMV! You can envision a modern or vintage-inspired wedding against the historical backdrop. The owners, Travis and Tig, say that Pleasant Hill House is “preserving the past with an eye to the future.”
