A Fairytale December Wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art

As a wedding stationery designer, I consider it an honor to have a small role in such a memorable moment in a couple’s life. Wedding invitations aren’t just ink on paper; they’re the first declaration of a couple’s union and a deeply meaningful symbol. That was certainly the case for Anna and Devin’s fairytale wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art

Anna, a romantic soul, planned every detail of her wedding to celebrate Devin, the love of her life. Anna wanted their wedding stationery to say something special about their love, so she chose my most popular suite, the Miss Louise. We included a pen and ink illustration of the Baltimore Museum of Art on their invitations, and a custom envelope liner of the Baltimore Inner Harbor, Federal Hill. This is where Anna and Devin met, had their first date, and were married!

Rehearsal Dinner at Little Havana

Anna and Devin hosted their rehearsal dinner at Little Havana in Baltimore. This is where they had their first date, said their first “I love you,” and where Devin accidentally spilled margaritas on Anna. The restaurant holds many wonderful memories and was the perfect place to celebrate the day before their wedding.

You could see the couple’s attention to detail in every aspect of the rehearsal dinner. Devon had a special golf-themed cake and a cigar roller. They even gave their guests their favorite hot sauce packets with Seinfeld quotes as favors! At the end of the night, Anna and Devin snuck away to the roof to enjoy some alone time before the big day.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Baltimore Museum of Art

Founded in 1914 with a single painting, the Baltimore Museum of Art now has 95,000 pieces in its collection—including the largest public holding of works by Henri Matisse. The wedding was held in the Fox Court, with its soaring coffered ceiling supported by Ionic columns, and the Antioch Court, a mosaic-filled room surrounding the museum’s Atrium and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. It was a gorgeous place for a wedding ceremony.

The ceremony was full of heartfelt moments, like when Anna brought Devin to tears with her handwritten vows! My favorite part was the tribute Anna paid to her father, her “first love, best friend, and favorite person” who handed her off to Devin, the man who would escort her on the next stages of the journey through her life. At the reception, Anna handed out Santa hats to celebrate the December season, and everyone danced the night away! Later, Anna and Devin had their wedding invitation framed with dried flowers from Anna’s bouquet. I’m so happy that their invitation gets to live on as a piece of art in their home!
