Black-Tie Wedding at the George Peabody Library

Caitlin and George met in College Park, Maryland in 2016 before traveling to a concert in DC. Sparks flew, and it wasn’t long before they began dating! As music lovers, they’ve gone on to attend many more concerts and festivals together. This couple has been on the sweetest journey, from graduating college and starting their careers to buying their first home and planning their dream wedding. Working with them to design a semi-custom invitation suite for their wedding at the George Peabody Library was an honor!

Customizing the Miss Louise Collection

Caitlin and George chose my most popular semi-custom invitation suite, Miss Louise, for their wedding. The collection’s classic calligraphy and crest motifs were perfect for their celebration’s black-tie theme! Since the wedding was to be formal, the couple’s customizations were all about elevating the suite. While their budget didn’t allow for handmade paper, we imitated the look with cotton paper with an on-trend deckled edge. The couple also invested in letterpress printing in black ink for an elegant, textural look.

I created a monogram crest using Caitlin and George’s wedding florals and initials to customize the suite further. However, the most stand-out custom detail was the envelope liner! It featured a line illustration of the Reading Room at the George Peabody Library, where the couple held their ceremony and reception. Meanwhile, a gold wax seal stamped with the custom monogram adorned the outer envelope and protected the suite’s contents.

Wedding at the George Peabody Library

The Reading Room at the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, Maryland was a gorgeous location for Caitlin and George’s wedding ceremony and reception. The venue’s high-ceilinged, tiered design—depicted on the couple’s custom envelope liners—admits plentiful natural light through a skylight. Six stories of bookshelves surround the central aisle, making this the perfect Baltimore wedding venue for the literary couple! Caitlin, George, and their guests adjourned to the adjoining Exhibit Gallery between the ceremony and reception for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Caitlin and George’s vision for their wedding at the George Peabody Library was one-of-a-kind. I’m so glad I could help them bring it to life with semi-custom wedding invitations! This middle-of-the-road option is perfect for couples who want wedding stationery that matches their style and honors their budget. T+W offers nine different semi-custom designs, all customizable with your choice of font, ink color, printing method, and additional embellishments. Let’s work together to find your favorite design and tailor it to your event!
